Mini Cameras, Night Vision and Infrared: A Buying Guide
Understand the difference between small camera bodies, low-light imaging, infrared illumination and night vision.
Mini describes physical size, night vision describes low-light imaging, and infrared is one method of illumination. A product may include all, some or none of these capabilities.
Night vision is not always zero-light
Low-light sensors still need ambient light. Infrared performance depends on range, angle, obstructions and reflections from glass.
Size trade-offs
A smaller body generally leaves less room for battery, cooling and antennas. Compare verified samples, power and storage rather than size alone.
